online yoga with Ilvy

Dear people from near and far

I have to get something off my chest. As always, I thought long and hard about whether I should write this here or not. But somehow it has to come out now.

I'm a bit astonished, irritated, puzzled, thoughtful or whatever. I can't really describe it.

Perhaps I need to start at the beginning, because there are probably people who don't know exactly what we do here in Sweden.

We have a small vacation village in the middle of the forest, 5 cozy individual guest cottages, on a 9-hectare forest. Our RelaxRanch is only 1.5 km from Lake Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden and the 3rd largest lake in Europe. For more information you are welcome to visit www.rel axranch.com 😊.

We took over this farm at the beginning of 2019 and had a good first season in 2019, but 2020 has also led to a lack of guests for us due to the devastating global Covid19 measures. We have extended the bookings already made by 12 months so that guests can catch up on their vacation with us this year. Unfortunately, we have already received cancellations again and we honestly don't know how we will manage if the guests don't show up again this year.

But complaining has never been our thing and we'd rather look for solutions than drive ourselves crazy. I thought about a facebook fundraising campaign a few weeks ago, but I honestly don't feel comfortable with it. That's why I've been running weekly online yoga classes since March 1, which I've been promoting diligently over the past few weeks. I've received a lot of feedback about how great it is, lots of likes (over 300 on instagram!) and was therefore optimistic that I would be able to welcome a large number of yoga students in the future.

But what can I say? So far, I have no less than 3 participants (thank you from the bottom of my heart, my dears). I thought it would hit like a bomb, as it's wonderful to be guided through 75 minutes of relaxation and light physical activity in your own living room. Of course, this online thing is a change and not for everyone. It wasn't mine either and I'm really looking forward to finally being able to teach people face-to-face again. But as I said, it's better to move this way than not at all.

I really hope I'm not coming across as too accusatory, but honestly, WHERE ARE YOU ALL???? I have so many "friends" on facebook, so many friends and acquaintances in real life, it can't be that only three want to come to yoga online? As I said, we don't need "donations" because we're not begging for money. I offer a service, which means you get something for your money. And I know it's not easy for everyone at the moment. We don't receive any support from the state here either, so we're completely on our own. And that's okay, because you can see what happens when you rely on the state (just as an aside).

I would therefore like to invite you once again to take advantage of this offer for your well-being and to support us in overcoming this challenge until people find their way back to the RelaxRanch. You can book the courses here: RelaxSpirit - Schedule (momoyoga.com)

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Greetings from the Swedish forest.
